3 Eye Shadow Tricks

  1. If you don't want to have a heavy eye makeup, apply the eye shadow slowly by picking up a little bit of product with a Deluxe Eye Brush, and blend it very well with a clean brush on the crease.
  2. You can also damp the brush in water before applying the product for better definition and color intensity of the shadow.
  3. An easy and beautiful way to use the Moodstruck Minerals Pigment Powder is to pick two shades (one light and one dark) and apply the lightest on the inner corner and the dark one in the outer corner, creating a fusion with no contrasts between them.

How to preserve Makeup

Have you ever wondered if makeup has an expiration date? Or if it gets ruined, just as food, when exposed to constant heat?
That's right, makeup is sensitive and it requires some care so their formulas stay intact, without any bacteria, or melting down.
Here's how to preserve the makeup:

  • Do not store the makeup in the bathroom, because the constant change in temperature and humidity cause the least lasting products.
  • Avoid places where the direct sunlight hits. Water-based products can dry out if exposed to the sun on a daily basis.
  • Store them in a necessarie inside your wardrobe so the packaging does not catch dust and are also conserved.

The Best Makeup For Deep Eyes

Start by using a clean pigment as an eye shadow all over your lid, like the shades Angelic, Sexy and Curious from the Younique's Moodstruck Minerals Pigment Powder Collection.
Apply a coat of mascara, preferably a volumizing and long lasting one, like the 3D Fiber Lashes, only on the upper lashes.
Make sure your eyebrows are perfectly defined and arched.

How To: Thicken Your Lashes

We all know the wonders that the Younique's 3D Fiber Lashes can do, it's incredible! But today's trick is for those who still want to make the eyelashes thicker before applying the mascara, or even for those who don't like to apply mascara in the bottom lashes, but still want to make them look thicker.
So, here's how:
  • Start by picking a black or brown waterproof kohl liner (it really has to be waterproof to avoid any smudging);
  • Curl your lashes;
  • All you do is to take the khol pencil and rub it back and forth in your lashes. This will give them darkness, and because it's a waterproof formula it will stick to your lashes giving them instant thickness, keeping the curl in place. Make sure you start right at the root of the lashes;
  • Apply the 3D Fiber Lashes mascara to finish the look: from the root, wiggling all the way up.

Get The Look: Moodstruck Minerals Pigments

This is a lovely look, perfect for Spring and Summer nights, and suitable for every eye color.
The skin is flawless, with a powdery finish, and bronzed.
Thick and defined eyebrows, big lashes and colored eyeliner/smoky eyes:

Here's how to get it:
Pick the Younique's Moodstruck Minerals Pigments in the shades Playful, Glamorous, Corrupted and a tiny bit of Infatuated (for the crease).
As for the crease, use the pointy part of the shader brush to apply and then blend it with the Deluxe brush.
On the lid, mix both Corrupted and Glamorous and apply with the same brush. Don't overdo it, it's always better to build up the color than applying too much just at once. Blend the colors very well with the Deluxe brush.
As for the liner part of the look, mix the Playful pigment with just a drop of Rose Water, to get the wet liner effect, and line the bottom of the eye from the inner corner to the outside and stop in the middle of the eye. Then with the Glamorous pigment, with a drop of Rose water, continue from the center of the eye to the outside corner. Then with a clean brush (the Deluxe or even the Concealer brush), blend both colors very slightly.
Finally, with the darkest shade, the Corrupted, draw a "v" shape in the outside corner of the eye, to create depth, and blend very well.
Finish this lovely look with a coat of the 3D Fiber Lashes and you're ready to go!

The 5 Rules Of Amazing Lashes

Our makeup tends to change with the weather. When it's too warm, we wear less makeup. In winter, we go for more full coverage, but there's one thing that, no matter what kind of weather we're facing, we will do, we will ALWAYS go for big, beautiful and full lashes!

So here are the 5 rules of amazing lashes to follow all year round:

  • Use a lash curler;
  • Let lashes set between layers of mascara;
  • Avoid spidery clumps by combing lashes after applying mascara;
  • Don't layer different mascaras, stick to the same one. Try the Younique 3D Fiber Lashes, as they help create the appearance of incredible thickness and volume to your existing lashes.
  • Condition them. We're not saying to apply hair conditioner to your lashes, but with a cotton pad and organic coconut oil you can apply the oil and let it set, so your lashes grow and get some much needed hydration.
Voila! Big, Beautiful and FULL lashes ALL year long! You're welcome.

Quick tip: Are you out of eyeliner ?

You have an amazing event to attend, and you just started doing your makeup. You're aiming for a gorgeous and classy winged eyeliner but your eyeliner is dry, or really running out... oh damn!
Quick, grab a brush, like the Liner brush from Younique, and dip it into your mascara. Remove the excess on your hand or paper towel and draw the black wing. Black mascara is a great substitute for the eyeliner in case of emergency.
Pick a good mascara, one that is waterproof like the 3d Fiber Lashes from Younique, so you'll avoid the liner to run out.

Tip of the day: 3D Fiber Lashes

If you're looking for a dashing mascara effect, with more volume and length than a regular mascara, but without the discomfort of the false lashes, the 3D Fiber Lashes by Younique is the way to go.
It's the new favorite product by makeup youtubers and everyone is after this new formula that is putting all the other mascaras at a lower level. They are water resistant, but easily washes off with warm water and facial cleanser at the end of the day.

Easy "smokey eye"

There isn't any makeup look that is more versatile than a smokey eye. It's classy, contemporary and not that hard to achieve if you follow the catwalk tricks:

  • Start by applying the black liner both in the upper lash line as well as in the lower lash line.
  • With a liner brush by Younique, wet it in Rose Water and then take a lighter Mineral Pigment to open the look, try the shade Feisty and apply in the inner corner.
  • with the same brush, still wet from the Rose Water, take a darker pigment, like Corrupted from Younique and apply through the whole lid, with the "shader" part of the brush. The wet brush will create a more diffuse look and will ease the smudge.
  • Finish the look with a nice layer of the 3D Fiber Lashes mascara.

Beauty habits men secretly hate

  1. They hate products with a bad or strong smell, such as toners, some night creams and some foundation formulas.
  2. Glittery products: men hate to see all their stuff with glitter sparkling all over, like in their clothes and in their brush beards. Make sure you keep your glittery eye shadows away because they will secretly hate that mess. Chose a mineral pigment instead, like the mineral pigments by Younique, not only they don't have any smell, but the texture doesn't spread or stick like glitter and they are natural products.
  3. Products that look painful or too aggressive: they see eyelash curlers as a pair of scissors right next to your eyes and every exfoliator that will leave your face red as a tomato right after using it will make him suffer just by looking at you. Try using a powerful mascara instead of the eyelash curler, like the 3D Fiber Lashes from Younique, as it will instantly make your lashes look curled, and avoid an abrasive scrub on your skin. Try the Awake Facial Cleanser by Younique instead, as it contains a range of beneficial ingredients that awaken and cleanse the skin. Its thick texture transforms into an effective lather to dissolve oil and makeup, rinsing away pore-clogging surface debris, impurities, and excess oil. It refines the skin texture, brightens skin clarity, and minimizes the look of pores over time.

Makeup Tips For The Ladies in Braces

Wearing braces might seem something that only teenagers do. But the number of adult women who have to wear braces have been increasing a lot since some years and, what was considered a taboo, is now the more and more acceptable and even fashion.
But it doesn't mean that all women feel comfortable and confident wearing them, and even if they do, it doesn't mean they shouldn't be careful: just because you got some eyes on you, doesn't always mean it's for the best reasons... And just because you are wearing braces, doesn't mean that you're not gorgeous or should ignore your beauty routine. The main trick is: enhance your other features other than the mouth area:

Skin: Make sure your skin is flawless, choose a good BB Cream or a good foundation if you really need a foundation. Younique has a broad range of skin tones for BB Creams which are actually very lightweight on the skin. Use a concealer on your scars and dark circles but only if you really need it, don't follow a makeup routine just because it's what they say you should do, learn your own features. It's preferable to look more natural than to have the cakey effect on your skin, especially if you're wearing braces, since it will make 2 things drawing attention (and not for the best reasons). Choose a peach or light rose pigment as a blush, for that healthy glow on your face.

Eyes: They are the main star, where all the attention should be focused on. The classic smokey eye works all the time, a simple cat eye with a dark eyeliner never fails as well. Try the Younique's Liner Brush dipped in Rose Water and the Moodstruck Mineral Pigment in the shade Corrupted to achieve a smoother and last longing effect.
The cherry on the cake should the the lashes: make them big and voluminous with the 3D Fiber Lashes mascara.

Lips: Avoid the lip glosses and shimmer, choose nude, soft, peach and opaque shades.

And don't worry: braces aren't forever !

Eyeliner tips

It's a known fact that eyeliner is as beautiful as intimidating: it requires a certain mastery on applying it. If you're a beginner, it will require that you learn how to steady your hands and do some touch ups. If you're already a pro, these are some tips that will most certainly help to keep the black line in its place:

  • Let it dry: if you want to avoid the liner on your crease, allow it to dry for about 30 seconds with your lids closed. This will prevent the liner to be pressed against the lid.
  • Use a primer: I must confess, eyelid primers are one of the best inventions in makeup, as it will allow your eyeliner (and even your eye shadow) to stay in place through the whole day. But if you don't have a primer, use a concealer before applying the liquid liner, it will help it hold in place and will avoid the rest of the eyelid to become greasy.
  • Seal it with powder: after having the liner shaped, use an angled brush to seal it with a powder eye shadow over the liner.
  • Apply the mascara after the eyeliner: it's one of the most repeated mistakes by beginners, to apply the mascara before the eyeliner, thinking that the mascara will work as a support. The problem is if you apply the liner after the mascara, it tends to displace the lashes, causing clumps.
  • Choose a waterproof formula: it's simple, it lasts longer, especially if you suffer in the upcoming allergy season (watery eyes will thank you by choosing a waterproof formula).

Quick trick for greater lashes

The trick is to use an eyelash curler before applying the mascara: use a blow dryer to slightly warm the curler, the heat will help the lashes to keep the curl effect more effectively. Press the curler right on the lash line for 5 seconds. Lightly press it again in the middle length of the lashes.
Then apply the mascara: the "it" mascara of the moment is the 3D Fiber Lashes as they create an extraordinary volume and length, creating the effect of bigger eyes.

Make up essentials to carry on the bag

You don't have to carry your whole necéssaire with the whole range of eyeshadows and blushes that you own. But having some essentials in your purse can save the day, like when you leave home in a hurry without having the time to do any makeup whatsoever or when your colleagues invite you for that after hours drink at the new hip pub, or the party you totally forgot you were invited to.
Carry some wipes, there are brands who have small sized packages or pocket versions. Not only they will clean the oiliness and pollution residues but also will give your skin some moisture. Carry a BB cream, a concealer, a black kohl pencil, a mascara and colored lipstick like rose or red. The BB Cream is enough coverage for both day and night, it will even your skin tone. If you have that party after work that you had forgotten, apply some concealer under your eyes to make you look less tired. With a black kohl pencil you can draw a few lines on your eyelids and smudge with your own finger, and make another line on your lash line to give more definition to your look. The mascara will make the final touch by creating volume and depth to your look. Double the layers of the mascara if you're going to that pub or party. Last but not least: the lipstick. If you chose rose or red tones you can also use it as a blush, just smudge a little bit on your cheeks with your finger and you're ready to rock that party.

A mascara quick trick that will make a difference

This is a very simple trick that all the celebrity make up artists have been using for ages:
Dip the brush into the mascara as usual, then clean it on a tissue. That's right, just swap it into a paper tissue to remove the excess of the mascara and they apply as usual. Allow a few seconds to dry and then repeat the procedure: this way you won't get the lumps on your lashes and the two layers of mascara will make your eyelashes fuller and bigger.
Don't worry about wasting the product on the tissue, you would have the clogged excess on the top of the mascara tube anyway and plus, mascaras have a very short expiration date (about 6 months).

How to Apply Mascara Like a Pro

Admit it – you've been known to harbor perfectionist tendencies on occasion. A touch of Type A personality here and there never hurt anyone but there are only so many times you can reformat your résumé. So put away your rainbow highlighters and set aside that stack of itemized lists for a moment to brush up on a skill you may think you mastered long ago: mascara application. Because as you very well know, there is always room for improvement. The proof is in these eight pro tricks that will have you applying mascara better than you ever imagined possible.
  1. Apply mascara on the bottom lashes first. Then apply mascara on the upper lashes but start from the inside corner. I place the brush to the lid, curl the brush downward, then pull the brush upward.
  2. Always go vertical and then flip horizontal to really get every lash and make them full.
  3. Look down at the mirror to do the top lashes and you won’t get mascara everywhere.
  4. Don’t lift the brush straight up; slightly lean it towards your eyelid to curl the lashes. Then brush up and out, towards the outer corner of the eye. This will create a more open, winged out effect.
  5. Start from the root of your lashes and wiggle upwards. Wiggling your mascara wand through your lashes will give your wand that tight fit up against every lash.
  6. Gently press on the eyelid to pop out the lashes to get as close to the lash line as possible when applying mascara.
  7. Bend the brush so you can get a better angle when applying.
  8. The biggest mistake women make is not conditioning their lashes prior to the application.
3D Fiber Lashes is the number one product that condition, strengthen and hydrate the lashes.
It has Transplanting Gel and Natural Fibers, together it enhances and magnify your OWN lashes. Watch your lashes transform into something you only dreamed of! A 300% increase in thickness and volume to your lashes while still looking completely real and natural. AWESOME!

Wouldn't you know that the most powerful makeup item is actually invisible? Makeup always looks better with primer. Moodstruck Glorious Face & Eye Primer is my essential beauty product, not only it smoothens texture but also boosts coverage and helps my mineral makeup wear better and last longer. Best part is its ingredients are all 100% natural, free of parabens, oils, synthetic fragrances, and cheap fillers. Fantastic!

Your pores are wide open right after you shower and it’ll be way less painful. No more OUCH!

This puts air into the tube and the stuff will dry out. Break this habit right now. Instead, pump up the volume of your lashes with the AMAZING 3D Fiber Lashes. Guaranteed to provides a 300% increase to your lashes that looks completely natural!

It will prevent it from drying out and it will last longer. BIG savings!

It might take a bit longer to blend but the skin is extra sensitive under those eyeballs. Certainly can't live without my favorite, Younique Moodstruck Mineral Concealer. Dab..dab..dab away!

If you’re unsure about your foundation color, rub it into your wrist. Does it blend well? Good. I totally LOVE how I can apply BB Flawless Complexion Enhancer in the morning really quick and head out when even in a rush because it's like a foundation and moisturizer in one. It's lightweight and doesn't clog pores like other foundation do. Simply SUPERB! These are available in different shades so you can pick the one that matches you best.

Dangers of False Eyelashes

Fake eyelashes are nothing new; for decades beauty queens, celebrities and models have been using fake eyelashes and eyelash extensions to enhance their natural beauty. But all aesthetic benefits aside, there are some real risks associated with fake eyelashes.

ALLERGIC AND ADVERSE REACTIONS

The fake lashes or other materials used to attach the lashes can cause adverse reactions to the skin and eyes. Even the slightest eye irritation can cause eye damage and can sometimes cause loss of sight. There are numerous cases wherein the adhesive used to attach the fake lashes caused allergic reactions that make the eyelids swell and cause redness of the eyes. This is by far the most common among the side effects of having fake lashes.

HYGIENE RISK

According to experts, false eyelashes are a considerable hygiene risk because they tend to trap dirt and bacteria. These harmful particles usually cause irritation to the eyelids and eyes. Natural eyelashes protect the eyes from dust, foreign materials and sweat, while low-quality and unhygienic false eyelashes usually cause irritation and infection. This is probably the most dangerous out all the side effects of having fake lashes as infection may result to blindness.

DAMAGE TO NATURAL LASHES

The improper attachment of fake lashes can damage the natural lashes. The extra pressure caused by the false lashes can also cause damage to the hair follicles, stopping eyelash growth temporarily or permanently.

A safe alternative?
3D Fiber Lashes! 3D Fiber Lashes are a two-bottle mascara-type system that increase your lashes (thickness AND volume) by 300x, while looking completely natural. The Transplanting Gel and Natural Fibers (100% natural fibers taken from the campanulaceae of green tea) are used together to enhance and magnify your OWN lashes.

7 Eyeshadow Mistakes to Avoid

1. Matching Your Eyeshadow to Your Eye Color
The common rule of thumb is that eye colors look best with eyeshadow shades on the opposite side of the color wheel. For example, green eyes look gorgeous with burgundy shadow, since red and green are complementary colors. If you do want to a try a shade that’s similar to your eye color, choose a muted one that won’t overshadow the iris. [Check out this simple chart for complementary colors]

2. Forgetting to Blend
Blending different colors — one or two on the lid and another on the brow bone — creates a gorgeous finish. But if there is a harsh line between each color, it looks sloppy and undone. Make sure to blend each shade into the next with a shader brush.

3. Using Applicators that Come with the Shadow
Most eyeshadows come with handy mini applicators, making it easy to apply on the go. However, for a truly blended finish, you should use a makeup brush. A sponge tip applicator provides a lot of pigment at once while a brush allows you to gradually add product and blend as you go. [Using makeup brushes also = more sanitary.]

4. Applying Too Much Below the Eye
Be careful to dab shadow only on the lower lash line and not any farther down. Any additional product drags down the look and makes the eye appear tired.

5. Applying Eyeshadow After Concealer
Always apply your eyeshadow before your under eye concealer. If not, the shadow will fall all over the eye area and undo all your hard work. When dabbing concealer on the under eyes, place it just below the lower lash line.

6. Using Shimmery Shadows on Aging Lids
Because of their light-reflecting properties, frosty shadows draw attention to wrinkles and crepey lids. Leave the sparkly shades to twentysomethings and choose more flattering matte or satin finish products instead.

7. Skipping Liner and Mascara
Eyeshadow doesn’t do it all; the eye also needs some contrast. Dark mascara and eyeliner frame the shape (creating an outline) while the shadow brightens and opens up the eye.
