Get Super Shiny Hair with Natural Ingredients

We all want hair with massive shine, right? Well, did you know that the solution to getting glossy hair lies right in your kitchen or the nearest grocery store? You don’t need expensive branded hair products and you definitely don’t need to spend huge amounts of money on them. Because the ingredients that we are about to discuss are cost effective, and since they are organic and natural, they have no side effects that harsh chemicals have.

Mayonnaise
Many people would say mayonnaise sounds icky and gross. And it’s so fattening, so better to stay away from it, right? WRONG! Only a few people know that mayonnaise is really made from egg yolks, oil and vinegar/lemon juice. The protein from egg yolks complement the keratin protein that your hair is made out of, and it strengthens the shaft from within. In addition, the oil conditions it and gives it shine. I personally like to call it my hair marshal, since it’s got so many nutritious items all combined into one.

How to Apply:
Apply directly, giving special attention to the ends of your hair. Don’t rub too much in the scalp, and then cover your hair with a shower cap or a plastic bag, so that it doesn’t dry out, and the hair can absorb as much of the goodness as possible. Rinse it out with water after letting it sit for an hour, and then shampoo and condition like normal. You will be able to feel the difference afterwards.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Did you know that you can use apple cider vinegar as a rinse after shampooing your hair? This regime is an important part of my hair care routine. Not only will it give your hair massive shine, it will also restore the pH of your hair, and rid of dry flakes and scalp itchiness.

How to Apply:
Just add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar along with ½ table spoon of rose water to 1 liter of water, and use this diluted mixture to pour over your hair. Be careful not to rinse your hair with it more than twice a week and do always dilute it according to the instructions given since apply cider vinegar alone is pretty acidic.

Time Saving Hairstyles for College Going Women

Learning how to make some really great time saving hairstyles should be a top priority for any working woman or college going student. There are just so many days you end up waking late for school and so, you need a ‘do that can be made within minutes and looks ultra-chic at the same time.

The Messy Hair Bun
To achieve this look, you just need some bobby pins, a scrunch or an elastic band to hold your hair. There are many variations of this hairstyle. For example, you can have your hair piled up at the top of your head to show off your long slender neck, or you can choose to make a bun at the nape of your neck.
All you have to do now is to tie your hair in a ponytail, and then twist it around in a circular motion and secure with bobby pins. One of the tricks that should be incorporated over here is to let some stray locks loose out of the bun. This tactic gives your hairstyle a sexy carefree look, and does away with any severe appearance.

Wild Waves
Do you have long hair that takes ages to curl using a hot iron rod? Is the hour long early morning routine involving lots of heat damage starting to get to you? Sometimes, we just don’t have that much time – or hair product - to make those perfect ringlets or smooth waves. Well, why not try a sexier alternative?

You can achieve this look with a simple time saving technique. You need to start off with towel dried hair divided into sections. The hair should be just slightly damp – NOT wet. Apply a bit of face primer to the ends to prevent split ends and moisturize the locks. Yes, it really works! Then, just braid each section of your hair and tie the ends with elastic bands. Preferably, you should just sleep with the hair still braided and open the braids in the morning. However, if you’re in a rush, use a blow-dryer till you can feel the hair has become absolutely dry.

If you want tighter waves, then just divide your hair into a larger number of sections and braid your hair more finely. The result: Wavy tresses that are high on volume.

How to make the eyeliner last longer

This is one of the oldest tricks in makeup and one of the most easiest things to do that will give a big upgrade to your look, because it actually helps to keep the eyeliner in place for many, many hours.

After applying your eyeliner (whether it's a cream, liquid or pen eyeliner), use the liner brush with a dark pigment, like Corrupted, from Younique all along the eyeliner. This will lock the dark liner in place and give it intensity through the whole day/night.

How To: Thicken Your Lashes

We all know the wonders that the Younique's 3D Fiber Lashes can do, it's incredible! But today's trick is for those who still want to make the eyelashes thicker before applying the mascara, or even for those who don't like to apply mascara in the bottom lashes, but still want to make them look thicker.
So, here's how:
  • Start by picking a black or brown waterproof kohl liner (it really has to be waterproof to avoid any smudging);
  • Curl your lashes;
  • All you do is to take the khol pencil and rub it back and forth in your lashes. This will give them darkness, and because it's a waterproof formula it will stick to your lashes giving them instant thickness, keeping the curl in place. Make sure you start right at the root of the lashes;
  • Apply the 3D Fiber Lashes mascara to finish the look: from the root, wiggling all the way up.

How to Reduce Dark Circles

There are many factors that contribute to the appearance of dark circles, such as fatigue, stress, poor diet, heredity, excess sun, smoking, alcohol intake, among others. The spots also appear during the premenstrual period and during pregnancy because the eyelid may become whitish due to iron deficiency.

To reverse the problem, it is best to take some basic precautions to avoid or reduce dark circles. Ideally, for example, is a good night's sleep (preferably sleeping eight hours a day to allow the restoration of tissues). If your sleep is restful, your skin the next day will be much prettier, even around the eyes. Take care of food, drink plenty of water, lower alcohol and salt, use concealer it will help give the eye around a healthier appearance.

Tips to reduce dark circles:

  • Sleep well

Sleeping well is one of the main tips for those who want to reduce dark circles . Therefore, the recommendation is that you sleep eight hours a day as it is during sleep that the skin is restored and recovers.

  • Wash your face with cold water

Many people find that washing your face with warm water helps relieve the appearance of dark circles, Which is wrong. While the warm water promotes vasodilatation, which favors the appearance of dark circles
, the cold water promotes vasoconstriction of blood vessels, causing the opposite effect, softening dark circles . Compresses of ice water also decrease swelling and darkening of the eyelids .
  • Massage the region

Making a massage around the eyes causes the swelling subsides. However, in order to obtain the results you should massage twice daily.
The fingers should glide smoothly, making slight pressure, going from the inner corner to the outer upper eyelid. Then start again from the inner corner of the eyes, but at the bottom, and go toward the outer corner. The massage should start at the tear duct (located in the inner corner ) and finish at the other end .Give light taps in the region with the tip of the index finger and the middle, alternately finger. When finished, close your eyes, and with the ring finger, press the tear duct for ten seconds, making a small circle .

  • Moisturize your face

Moisturize the skin daily makes her be more beautiful. Use a good daily moisturizer like the Brilliant Daily Moisturizing Gel by Younique .The facial moisturizing is useful to disguise dark circles . This is because a good hydration in the region of the eye, the skin thickness increases and consequently the facial vessels in this area are not so apparent.

  • Apply a compress teabag on your eyes

Place cold compress of chamomile tea on the eyes is one of the ways to reduce dark circles . This is because chamomile has calming and anti- inflammatory action , and have an effect of vasoconstriction. The tea should be made more concentrated and, before applying the compress on the eyes it should go to the freezer for a few minutes.

How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Taking care of your makeup brushes is very important, because of the bacteria accumulation, something to be aware of, to prevent zits and other skin issues.
But caring of makeup brushes isn't like washing normal brushes, they are delicate therefor they need special attention:

  • If you don't have a specific makeup brushes cleaning product, or don't want to invest in one, use baby shampoo, as it is delicate enough not to ruin the makeup brushes bristles and fibers.
  • Don't let the water and the shampoo pass the metal part, because when the water enters the metal part of the brush, will get in contact with the glue that sticks the bristles together and ruin them, so they will start to come off.
  • Let them dry on a clean towel, preferably close to a window or close to a natural ventilation point. Put them against the wall with the bristles on the towel, so all the water is absorbed.
  • Never ever put the bristles facing the tap water, so the water doesn't get inside the brush, and it doesn't get deformed.
  • Use your fingers to wash the brush, in soft circular motions.
  • Avoid squeezing the brush too much, so the bristles don't come off.

Foundation, Concealer, Primer and Powder - What are they?

You just started to be interested in makeup and still confuse Foundation, with Concealer? You don't know what a Primer is for, or the use of a setting Powder? Or maybe you already have your own makeup habits but these complexion products still confuse you? Let's get them all straight:

In order of what goes on your face:

  • Primer, there are many different primers for different skin problems but the main goal for most primers is to boost makeup longevity and to create a smooth canvas. Try the Younique Glorious Face & Eye Primer to create a flawless canvas as it evens out the skin's texture, and primes and prepares the skin for premium application of mineral makeup.
  • Concealer and Foundation, I don't think it really matters which order for these two if you are just covering dark circles. But if you have spots I would apply the foundation first and then use the concealer to cover any spots still showing.
Concealer is usually thicker than foundation and is used to add more coverage over a certain area. Try the Moodstruck Minerals Concealer from Younique, as it is 100% natural and chemical-free. The Foundation is usually a Medium coverage and is used to even out your complexion.
  • Setting powder, not to be confused with powder foundation, sets your makeup to boost longevity and to decrease shine. I recommend using a flat top powder brush to apply this, pat do not brush across foundation as it will move it and you will end up with uneven patches.

Tip of the day: Make Your Own Highlighter

Are you out oh highlighter or can't seem to find the perfect shade for your skin tone? Or, have you been out enjoying these lovely Spring afternoons and got a tan, and your highlighter doesn't fit anymore?
Don't worry, you don't have to break your piggy bank and buy 10 different random shades: try the Younique Moodstruck Minerals Pigment Powder in the tones Curious and Sexy and mix them all together until you find the perfect shade (lighter VS rose). You can also use these pigment powders as eyeshadows, especially in the brow bone, and mix them with a neutral gloss, like the Younique Lucrative Gloss in the tone Loyal, for a twist in your lips.

Homemade scrub for oily skin

If you have oily skin, take advantage of the vitamin properties of almonds and the antiseptic properties of honey. It's pretty easy:
You will need 5 peeled almonds and 2 tablespoons of honey. To prepare the scrub, start by shredding the almonds (use a shredder) until the texture looks almost like sand.
Then, mix the honey with the shredded almonds, and gently exfoliate the face skin previously cleaned in round movements.
Wash it off with warm water until your skin is completely clean, and apply your daily moisturizer, like the Younique's Brilliant Daily Moisturizing Gel, as it will leave your skin feeling revitalized, toned, and radiant.

Tips to Look Younger

  • Wear sunscreen: no matter what skin color or tone, or type, or whether it's summer or winter, just wear sunscreen, and wear it often. Don't wait for the first wrinkles to appear to start taking care of your skin: the sooner you start, the better you will look in the future.
  • Use lemon juice in your age spots: the Vitamin C and the citric acid in lemon juice can help gradually fade the sports and even your skin tone.
  • Avoid alcholic drinks: alchol dehydrates the skin, and a dehydrated skin will gain wrinkles and spots much faster.
  • Use a gentle facial cleanser every day, like the Younique Awake Facial Cleanser , as it will remove the impurities and unclog your pores, without drying the skin.
