Beauty Tricks Every Girl Should Know

Being a girl is sometimes hard. Heels. Makeup. Don't even get me started on pregnancy. And you know what? We as the female population, try our best. But sometimes, we just need a little help.

Wouldn't you know that the most powerful makeup item is actually invisible? Makeup always looks better with primer. Moodstruck Glorious Face & Eye Primer is my essential beauty product, not only it smoothens texture but also boosts coverage and helps my mineral makeup wear better and last longer. Best part is its ingredients are all 100% natural, free of parabens, oils, synthetic fragrances, and cheap fillers. Fantastic!

Your pores are wide open right after you shower and it’ll be way less painful. No more OUCH!

This puts air into the tube and the stuff will dry out. Break this habit right now. Instead, pump up the volume of your lashes with the AMAZING 3D Fiber Lashes. Guaranteed to provides a 300% increase to your lashes that looks completely natural!

It will prevent it from drying out and it will last longer. BIG savings!

It might take a bit longer to blend but the skin is extra sensitive under those eyeballs. Certainly can't live without my favorite, Younique Moodstruck Mineral Concealer. Dab..dab..dab away!

If you’re unsure about your foundation color, rub it into your wrist. Does it blend well? Good. I totally LOVE how I can apply BB Flawless Complexion Enhancer in the morning really quick and head out when even in a rush because it's like a foundation and moisturizer in one. It's lightweight and doesn't clog pores like other foundation do. Simply SUPERB! These are available in different shades so you can pick the one that matches you best.

Rimming the Waterline

  1. Rim your waterline with a black kohl or kajal liner. Blink your lids together to get the product on the upper waterline. For those of you who are very comfortable with lining your eyes, look down and lift your upper lid to rim the upper waterline as well.
  2. Dip a stiff angled eyeliner brush into a matte black eye shadow. Tap it a few times against a counter to get rid of the excess product, then “stamp” it along the waterline, directly on top of the original kohl liner. Really work it into the line that’s in between the waterline and the lash line, so no skin peeks through.

BB Cream: What is it and why should I use it?

What are BB Creams?
Short for beauty balms or blemish balms. They were first developed in Germany by a dermatologist who wanted a single cream that would protect skin and provide coverage after laser treatments. These all-in-one products combine the functions of a primer, anti-aging serum, moisturizer, and light foundation—plus, many contain added benefits like SPF.

Though I prefer using individual moisturizer, primer and foundation: BB Cream is definitely my go-to on mornings when I'm in a rush. I use Younique's BB Flawless. (It's gluten-free and vegan, woot!) This all-in-one moisturizer, treatment, and foundation works great to smooth out the skin, correct my complexion, and of course offers protection from harmful UV rays all day long. It works great as a lightweight foundation on its own and reduces shine, giving me a natural-looking matte finish.

DIY: Natural Makeup Remover

Rose water can bring benefits to all skin types, it can help sooth and cool sensitive and irritated skin, balance and cleanse oily skin, rejuvenate, soften and tone mature skin, revitalize and add beautiful glow to the normal skin. Rose water is filled with anti-oxidants and various vitamins, therefore, it can help prevent the signs of ageing and nourish the skin. It also makes a killer makeup remover!

What you'll need:
  • 3 table spoons of rose water (I recommend Younique's Rose Water )
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • 1 cotton pad
  • small bowl
Directions
Scoop out a teaspoon of coconut oil and drop it in your bowl. Pour 3 tablespoons of rose water. Mix it up as best as you can. You'll find it a bit difficult since the coconut oil is still solidified, so pop it in the microwave for 5 seconds and mix it once more. Take your cotton pad, soak it in the liquid and gently wipe off your makeup. It efficiently removes makeup not only from your face, but also, can be used on the gentle skin around the eyes. Never rub harshly nor stretch your skin while removing makeup! If there is any left over, I like to massage it on my hands, arms and legs! It leaves a healthy shine without being too greasy...not to mention the beautiful scent!

Beauty Secret: Make Your Lipstick Last!

1. Clean Lips: Lipstick simply can't stick to dry, chapped lips. Apply a generous amount of lip balm using a disposable mascara wand. Gently rub back and forth, up and down & in circular motions to work off any dry flakes, then use a tissue to wipe off excess balm & flakes. (Follow this tutorial.)

2. Use a Lip Pencil: Lip liners contain the same pigments as lipsticks, but the color is suspended in a waxy pencil instead of a creamy stick. Particles of pigment cannot move as freely in their waxy base, so they provide a platform to which layers of lipstick can cling. Pick a lip liner color that is slightly lighter than the intended lipstick color and fill in the ENTIRE lip. Start in the center and lightly fill in the rest of the lip -- this ensures the brightest hue is mid-lip and not around the edges.

3. Blot & Re-apply: After applying one coat, blot with a tissue & then apply a second coat. Blotting removes excess oils  from the first layer of lipstick while leaving the pigments largely intact. Adding a second layer of lipstick after blotting increases the pigment concentration relative to the creamy ingredients that are the enemies of lipstick longevity.

4. The Tissue Trick: Apply a thin tissue over the lips & apply a loose powder using a brush. The powder helps keep the color in place.

The PERFECT powder to use is Moodstuck Minerals Concealer. It's high-quality, all natural (vegan, gluten-free) & contains Zinc Oxide + Titanium Oxide - the active ingredients in sunscreen - so it will protect your lips from harmful UV rays as well!

PERFECT Holiday Makeup

I am ABSOLUTELY in love with this look for the holiday season -- work parties, friend's party, cocktail hour, dinner out -- it's PERFECT for any occasion! The way the twinkling lights of the festivities play with the sparkling eye shadow & red lip = gorgeous.  Best of all, it's really simple and fast to put together.

1. Base: In case you're not already using Makeup Primer: YOU NEED TO! It makes your skin flawlessly smooth, holds your makeup all night long + provides many more benefits!

2. Eyes: With the bold lips, you don't want to go overboard on the eyes.
Inner V & Lower Lash Line: Use a shimmering neutral. (Sexy by Younique is amazing)
Crease: Use a rosy matte. (Like Vulnerable
Top off with a bold eyeliner & 3D Fiber Lashes

3. Lips: Besides bold, you also want your red lip to shine. I am a matte girl for life but during the holidays, I love the effect of the lights playing with the lip shine. It's seriously magical. (I love Luscious Lip Gloss)

Happy holidays, beauties!
